The Shelly Materials Quarry Tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at the operations that produce the essential aggregates and materials used to build and maintain our communities. Participants will explore active surface mining operations, view portions of the underground mining operation from the portal, and learn how raw materials are processed into high-quality construction products during a guided processing plant tour. The experience also includes a tour of the asphalt (HMA) plant, where attendees will see how aggregates are combined to produce hot mix asphalt for roads and infrastructure projects. This comprehensive tour provides valuable insight into the technology, processes, and people behind modern aggregate production.
Safety Requirements: Level 3 safety vests, Steel toe/composite boots, hard hats, safety glasses. Ear protection optional (the facility will have some if you do not)
